Service Committee
Jesus commands us to love God and love others. One way we show we love God is by serving others through food distribution, opening our building to first responders during Covid, Sock-it-to-Me Sunday (collecting new socks for the homeless children in BISD), and distributing new/ gently-used coats for children in our neighborhood.
Coats for Children
Food DistributionCAPITAL CAMPAIGN
Due to recent building expenses, we have needed to dip into our reserves. The Session is sending out a plea asking our friends and family to please prayerfully consider donating to this campaign and helping to defray the unavoidable costs.
Our largest expense is fixing the 70 year old elevator. At present it is the only way people with mobility issues can enter into the building. Contact the church office for more information or instructions on how to donate. Each gift is a blessing from God. |
It takes a village to deliver to a village! First Presbyterian purchases coats for community children who otherwise may go without a coat in the winter. God bless our educators who help others in education. You are true heroes too.

Because Presbyterians love Santas dressed as Firemen: These masked Santas from the Brownsville Fire Department stopped by First Presbyterian Church in Brownsville to drop off gifts for distribution. Service Sundays
First Presbyterian, Brownsville is blessed to be a blessing. The last Sunday of the month is our time to give back to our community as a congregation working and serving together. Worshipers come to the sanctuary to worship God and then serve together in the community by picking up garbage around the neighborhood, meeting and greeting neighbors- sometimes with a treat, but always with a warm smile and word of welcome, thanking our local heroes with a sweet treat, organizing and filling disaster buckets. These are a few projects. We cannot wait to see what else God has in store. |
